Originally from Vancouver, Canada, my research lies in cultural studies related to Japan. The intersections between language and culture, media studies and global aspects of these fields are all areas of interest. I am one of the founding group of organizers for the World Cosplay Summit event and have been helping organize the event since 2003. In 2016 I was involved in bringing the Mechademia Academic Association’s Asia Conference to Japan and continue to play a role on the steering committee.  Currently I am a lecturer at Kokushikan University and have instructed classes in Media Culture, Global Studies, Applied Linguistics and Academic Writing.   

 

バンクーバー・カナダ出身。研究の中心は文化論。言葉と文化の交わり、メディア論について国際的な見地からテーマを捉える。2003年より、世界コスプレサミットの創始メンバーの一人として現在も活動中。2016年からは世界的に有名なメカデミア学会の初の日本開催に尽舘力。現メカデミア学会運営委員の一人。メディア文化論、グローバルスタディーズ、学術論文と応用言語学などについて数々の大学で教鞭をとる。現在は国士舘大学に努める。
